Conditions of participation Oetz Kayak Cross
The Oetz Kayak Cross is an extreme kayak event. Therefore, please note that you must have sufficient experience in heavy white water and be in good physical condition to take part. The following conditions of participation are intended to ensure the safety of all participants. Therefore, only those who accept the conditions of participation and the data protection declaration, sign at the start number issue and attend the briefing on the day of the competition will receive a starting permit.
- Organizer, race management, other official personnel
1.1.
The organizer is Source To Sea GmbH, Natterer See 1, 6161 Natters.
1.2.
The race management consists of the race director, start judge, finish judge and timekeeper. Each member can make individual decisions on safety issues. Otherwise, the race management decides by simple majority.
1.3.
Instructions from members of the race management, all marshals, all doctors and rescue personnel must be followed.
- Registration, start list and entry fee, deregistration
2.1.
Starting places are allocated in the order in which registrations are received. Places on the waiting list will be allocated in the same order. Any starting places that become available will be allocated in the order in which they appear on the waiting list.
2.2.
You can pay the entry fee of EUR 30.00 either immediately via PayPal or by bank transfer up to and including 19.09.2025.
2.3.
By registering, you reserve your starting place. The reservation expires if you do not pay the entry fee by 19.09.2025 at the latest.
2.4.
You can withdraw from the competition by 13.09.2025 without giving reasons by e-mail or in writing. In this case, we will refund your entry fee. The starting place that becomes available will be given to the next athlete on the waiting list.
2.5.
If you are unable to take part due to illness or injury, you can cancel up to three days before the competition. If you send us a medical certificate, we will refund your entry fee. The starting place that becomes available will be given to the next athlete on the waiting list.
- Minimum age, start number issue
To take part, you must be at least 18 years old on the day of the competition.
The start number and the start package must be collected in person. With your signature you confirm that you are healthy and able to meet the requirements of the competition for which you have registered.
- Security
4.1.
The race director and his assistants will check the material you use before the competition and mark it with a safety check sticker.
4.2.
In order to ensure safety, the race management may permanently exclude participants from the competition at any time, in particular
- Participants who do not attend the briefing:
- Participants who are obviously unable to ride the race section safely;
- Participants with non-compliant equipment (kayak, life jacket, helmet, clothing);
- Participants riding on a closed route;
- Participants who do not follow the instructions of the persons listed in point 1;
- Participants who do not visibly display the safety check sticker affixed by the race director on the equipment used;
- Participants with changes to the official start number, in particular with covered advertising.
Participants who are excluded by the race organizers will not receive a refund of the entry fee.
- Race tracks
We will announce the course at the briefing, but: The race organizers can change the course at any time, in particular for safety reasons, cancel the competition in whole or in part or only partially score it. The course can also be changed at short notice on the day of the competition.
Changes to the route and the individual competitions may result in particular from
- Weather, water level >311cm;
- Restrictions by law, regulations or official requirements (e.g. due to Covid-19).
If we cancel the competition before it starts, we will refund the entry fee in full.
- Liability
6.1.
Even if we take all necessary safety precautions according to the state of the art, participation in the competition remains dangerous. We therefore strongly recommend that you take out recreational accident insurance and rescue insurance. By signing the conditions of participation, you confirm to us that you have this insurance.
6.2.
The qualifying and final tracks are open for inspection and training before the competition, but without a safety crew. If you ride the courses for training purposes, this is your own responsibility. We only monitor the tracks during the qualifying and final runs.
- Image and sound rights
You irrevocably grant us and the photographers, TV and radio stations accredited by us the right, free of charge, to make image, film and sound recordings of you in any technically possible way from your arrival to your departure and to utilize these recordings without any restrictions and to make them available to third parties for utilization.
- Sponsors and advertising
All types of advertising facilities and advertising spaces may not be removed, covered or otherwise impaired.
- Environment
9.1.
We all have to ensure that the race course and the surrounding landscape are impacted as little as possible. We therefore expect all participants to respect the barriers and only store boats, other sports equipment and other material in the designated areas.
9.2.
Vehicles may only be parked in the reserved parking spaces at the valley station of the cable car. Driving on the field paths with vehicles is strictly prohibited.
9.3.
Participants and spectators are obliged to use the toilets provided and not to leave any excrement on the meadows or in the forest. Any contamination of the water must be avoided.
9.4.
The rights of the property owners must be respected. We show consideration for local residents.
9.5.
Wild camping is strictly prohibited. The police and mountain rescue service will carry out checks.
