Rivers Day
On Sunday 10 th October, following our kayak race, we will be holding a Rivers Day event.
We would like to invite you to learn about rivers, as they are so versatile!
For us kayakers, rivers are the sports field where we can let off steam. An extreme kayak
race like the OETZ TROPHY would not be possible without the wild river that provides us
with the racecourse, but rivers have many other aspects too. They are places of tranquility
along which we walk and relax. They are impressively beautiful and we can enjoy their
beauty and surroundings. Most importantly they are also ecosystems that provide a habitat
for animals and plants and on which we humans also depend.
The Rivers Day would like to invite you to learn more about our rivers, to exchange ideas
and to experience nature together. The framework of the OETZ TROPHY, with so many
international athletes, makes it possible to look beyond the Alps to the rivers of other
countries and continents altogether. All visitors and athletes are invited!
Rivers Day is organised by the Free Rivers Fund together with VAUDE.
The full programme for the day will be available in September!
