Mountain summer in Oetztal: Discovering something new. Find yourself.
The Oetztal is 65 kilometers long. Four different climatic zones can be found, from the mild entrance to the valley with its orchards and vineyards up to the ice and rock scenery of the three-thousand-meter peaks. The landscape is diverse and unique, a habitat where everything comes together, where everyone has their place. The Oetztal is known for its variety of outdoor opportunities on the mountain, in the valley and on the wild waters of the Oetztaler Ache.
Kayak & canoe tours in Oetztal. The El Dorado for experienced paddlers
If you enjoy the variety of kayaking or canoeing, the Oetztal is the right place for you. While paddling down the river bed in the Oetz valley, every kilometer opens up new natural beauties. Over a distance of 42 km, the Oetztaler Ache runs through the valley where mighty gorges alternate with narrow canyons, while the turbulent whitewater offers the ultimate thrill for adrenaline junkies. From May to October, depending on the water levels, you will find very different, sometimes extreme technical challenges in the valley (seven sections ranging WW III to VI). On warm summer days the river sparkles and roars, while in autumn it is quieter but never boring. In every season the Oetztaler Ache provides some of the world’s most difficult whitewater sections.
