No race in 2026

The Ötztaler Ache has been officially closed. No race can take place this year

A mudslide has damaged the sewage treatment plant in Sölden. As a result, sewage is flowing into the Ötztaler Ache until further notice, and the authorities have banned all sporting activities on the river. It is therefore not possible to hold the OETZ TROPHY and the Ötztal Kayak Festival this year.

Thank you to all the paddlers, volunteers and partners who had marked this weekend in their diaries!

Oetztal
Kayak Festival

The festival venue next to the Ötztaler Ache seen from above. On the left there are kayaks in the field and a big red bull tent. On the river there's a kayaker navigating the rapids.

The Oetztal Kayak Festival is all about whitewater for four days. Exciting kayak races, workshops, gear to try out, and plenty of fun are all included!

This is the weekend as it stands. The 2026 edition will not run — the same programme is the plan for September 2027.
