Time trial on the Oetztaler Ache slalom course.
Qualification
Qualifying for the OETZ TROPHY - Sprint Extreme Kayak World Championships and the Kayak Cross will take place on Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on the slalom course in Oetz. All participants will be informed of their qualifying run start time on Thursday when their race numbers are assigned.
Schedule
Each participant must complete one timed run, during which they must also pass through a small number of directional gates. The directional gates serve to make the course more selective and are placed in such a way that the qualifying run retains the character of a downhill race.
A total of 130 men and 50 women will compete in the qualification round, of whom 50 men and 12 women will qualify for the OETZ TROPHY - Sprint Extreme Kayak World Championships on Saturday.
The next 32 men (places 51–82) and 16 women (places 13–28) from the qualifying heats will advance to the Kayak Cross competition on Friday afternoon.
Withdrawal from the Starting Lineup
When race numbers are assigned on Thursday, participants have the option to indicate that, in the event of a successful qualification, they will forgo their starting spot in the OETZ TROPHY - Sprint Extreme Kayak World Championships.
In this case, the next-ranked qualifier will move up to the main competition on Saturday, and the person who gives up their starting spot will be allowed to participate in the Kayak Cross in return.
However, this decision must be made on Thursday during the race number assignment process and, for organizational reasons, cannot be made at a later date.
